PGA Championship, who to bet?

If it can be modeled, you know @ButkusStats is at least going to TRY! We tested a similar method out on the Masters with help from @nypost and won some money💵 on Scottie Scheffler. So, here’s the Shaving Points Podcast bets for the PGA Championship

PGA Course: Southern Hills Country Club

  • 12 of 18 holes is par 4’s
  • Lengthy par 70 requires Tee2Green & Approach
  • Lots of doglegs, need driver accuracy
  • Multiple greens protected by sand, important to avoid mistakes near green

With the long par 4’s, using irons and wedges will make the difference in this one. This course is also full of doglegs, so driving accurately will be important. Not to mention, as golfers approach the greens it is crucial they are on point with their approach shots and being able to get out of sand. The chipping game will be a huge factor here this weekend.

PGA Championship Picks

This PGA model takes into consideration each golfer’s par four average on the year, strokes gained on approach shots, and strokes gained cutting distance from tee to the green.

Additionally, driver accuracy numbers were used to create columns for driving strokes added, sand strokes added, and scramble strokes added. Trying to get a feel for how well they recover from rough spots golfers need to chip from. Throwing all the numbers together we get the results below!

Best Bets for the PGA Championship? ⛳ Justin Thomas ⛳ Daniel Berger. Also threw a little on Matt Fitzpatrick cause if I didn’t and he won, I would not be happy.
