NFL QB Tiering based on EPA per Play and QB Usage

Let’s start with a basic question: Have you ever wondered which quarterbacks perform best in terms of efficiency and usage? Well, we have. Thanks to some hard work from @ButkusStats, we have a fancy chart that allows us to take a deeper look at NFL QB tiering based on expected points added (EPA) per play and QB usage.

In simple terms, EPA is the difference between expected points from one play to the next. While QB usage is the percent of offensive snaps where the quarterback drops back for a pass, scrambles, or carries the ball on a designed run. Allen & Brady are clearly in a league of their own when combining efficiency & volume.
