College Football Week 3 Picks

Jay’s Week 3 Best Bet
Mississippi State -2 on the road against LSU
Mike Leach leads the Bulldogs into Death Valley. But Mike Leach teams do not play defense, right? WRONG! This Mississippi State defense might be top 3 in the SEC this year. They have Will Rodgers slinging the rock in that Mike Leach offense. This is a dangerous team in the SEC. They will put up points with the backing of a high-end defense. And LSU is in a rough spot. Some of their best players are not wanting to play for Brian Kelly. Everything is coming up Mississippi State.
Quinten’s Week 3 Best Bet
Auburn to win at home against Penn State
Penn State hits the road, traveling down to Auburn as a 3-point favorite. But I am not on the favorite here. I am taking Auburn on the money line at +127. By now, you know how we feel about home dogs. Auburn features an experienced offensive line and an explosive running game. Their defense is stingy, and you know that the home crowd will be loud all game long. Meanwhile, there are some questions about Penn State’s ability to stop the run. If Auburn can get out to a lead early and force Sean Clifford to make plays to win, I expect them to be able to lean into the run game and get the win as a home dog. At the very least, it is decent value (+127) for a game that I feel should be more of a coin flip.
